House Republicans plan to introduce legislation to place Charlie Kirk on U.S. currency following his assassination. Reps. August Pfluger (R-TX) and Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) intend to propose a bill directing the U.S. Treasury to mint 400,000 silver dollar coins featuring Kirk’s likeness. The coins would bear the phrase “well done, good and faithful servant” on one side and Kirk’s face on the other, with inscriptions of his full name, “Charles James Kirk,” the year 2026, the U.S. name, and motto. Final design details would be determined by the Treasury Secretary in consultation with President Donald Trump. Hamadeh praised Kirk as an “American treasure” who sacrificed his life to “save this nation for future generations,” while Pfluger called him the youngest-ever American to appear on currency at age 31. The bill follows a resolution passed by Congress honoring Kirk’s legacy and condemning political violence, despite opposition from 96 Democrats. House Speaker Mike Johnson stated the measure would “call out political violence in America.”
