In an interview on Fox News, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) expressed support for President Donald Trump’s potential return to office in 2028. “Trump 2028. I hope this never ends,” Graham stated. He added that Trump’s approach to global conflicts was clear: “When he asks what should you do if a Russian jet flies into your country, shoot it down.”
Graham highlighted Trump’s remarks to European leaders, saying, “He told the Europeans if you don’t stop buying Russian oil and gas, you’ve got nobody to blame but yourself. Hungary, Slovakia, and Turkey are buying a billion dollars of Russian oil and gas a month.” The senator concluded, “So God bless President Trump. I think he gave the right message on the world stage and, you know, he told the world what they needed to hear – up your game.”
Graham had previously advocated for a third Trump term in March, writing, “My take on President @realDonaldTrump’s address tonight: Inspiring, funny, compelling and the Democrats’ worst nightmare. Trump 2028!”
Trump recently claimed Ukraine, with European Union support, could “fight and win” all its territory back from Russia. He stated, “After getting to know and fully understand the Ukraine/Russia Military and Economic situation… I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form.” Trump criticized Russia’s war effort, calling it “aimless” and suggesting it was damaging the country’s economy. He added, “Putin and Russia are in BIG Economic trouble, and this is the time for Ukraine to act.”
Trump has repeatedly discussed a potential third term, telling NBC News there are “potential workarounds” to bypass constitutional limits. “A lot of people want me to do it,” he said. “But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go… I’m focused on the current.” When pressed, Trump insisted he was “not joking.”
