A 19-year-old former DOGE employee known as “Big Balls” survived a violent assault in Washington, D.C., last month after defending his girlfriend during an attempted carjacking. The incident, which sparked widespread attention, led to federal intervention in the city.
Edward Coristine described the attack to Fox News’ Jesse Watters, detailing how he rushed to protect a friend as a group of 10 teenagers confronted them late at night. He recounted being slammed against a vehicle and punched before police arrived. Despite sustaining a broken nose and concussion, Coristine expressed relief at his recovery.
The attackers, two Maryland teens aged 15, faced additional charges including assault and robbery after the incident. Their actions reportedly prompted heightened security measures in D.C. Coristine’s account has drawn calls for recognition of his bravery, though no official honors have been announced.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about public safety in the nation’s capital.
