Federal District Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Sean “Diddy” Combs to 50 months in prison for two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution. The judge emphasized the severity of the offense, stating, “a substantial sentence must be given to send a message to abusers and victims alike that abuse against women is met with real accountability.” Combs’ legal team had requested a sentence of no more than 14 months, while prosecutors sought over 11 years. The rapper was acquitted of more serious sex trafficking and racketeering charges that could have resulted in a life sentence. The decision comes after his conviction in July.
