Last night, conservative journalist Nick Sortor was attacked by ANTIFA in Portland as he attempted to report on the situation. Instead of arresting the violent ANTIFA individuals, Portland Police detained Sortor.
Karoline Leavitt announced that President Trump has directed Pete Hegseth to deploy active duty troops to Portland to end what she described as a “reign of terror” in the city. Leavitt also stated that Trump is considering reclaiming federal funds allocated to Portland.
Trump emphasized his commitment to making American cities the safest places, citing his success in restoring order in Washington, D.C. He asserted that similar measures are being implemented in Portland, Oregon, where he claims radical left-wing groups have caused widespread chaos.
Leavitt highlighted disturbing video footage of violent confrontations, including ANTIFA members using a stop sign as a battering ram to breach an ICE field office, hurling explosives at law enforcement, and deploying a guillotine near the facility. She condemned these actions as “left-wing anarchy” that has left police officers injured, citizens fearful, and businesses damaged.
Trump has deployed federal law enforcement to protect federal assets and arrest those inciting violence. Leavitt referenced an incident where conservative journalist Nick Sardar was detained by Portland Police after being attacked by ANTIFA, calling it part of a broader pattern of left-wing groups attempting to control the city. The Department of Justice is investigating Sardar’s arrest, with Trump vowing to cut federal aid to cities that allow such chaos.
Additional federal resources, including CBP and ICE support, are being sent to Portland to restore “law and order,” according to Leavitt. She reiterated Trump’s determination to confront what he calls a threat to American stability.
