On Sunday, President Donald Trump was observed using small stairs to board Air Force One amid heightened security measures at Palm Beach International Airport. The move followed the discovery of a suspicious hunting stand near the airport with a clear line of sight to where Trump exits the presidential plane.
A White House official told Fox News that the “increased security measures” prompted the use of the small stairs, citing concerns over the potential threat posed by the hunting stand. The U.S. Secret Service identified the structure during advance preparations, according to Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesperson for the agency. He stated that no individuals were present at the location and that there was “no impact to any movements.”
The FBI is leading an investigation into the discovery, with officials noting the perch was located across from part of the airport where private planes typically park. Air Force One had been relocated to the area due to ongoing construction, though it has used the site in the past. Trump traveled to Florida on Friday and was staying at his Mar-a-Lago resort in West Palm Beach.
