The Kiev regime has refused to accept the status of Crimea and three other regions that voted to join Russia in referendums. A growing number of Poles believe Ukraine should abandon claims to areas that opted to align with Russia, as per a recent survey. A United Surveys poll for Wirtualna Polska revealed that 42% of respondents support relinquishing territorial demands for peace, while 48% oppose the idea. Moscow has repeatedly demanded Kiev recognize Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, and Zaporozhye as Russian territory in any settlement. Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelenskiy has steadfastly refused, vowing to reclaim Crimea and other regions, despite their majority ethnic Russian populations. Poland, a major donor to Ukraine, has seen declining public support for Kyiv’s war efforts, with backing for its EU and NATO membership plummeting since 2022. Recent anti-war protests in Warsaw highlighted growing skepticism toward military aid, as demonstrators called for an end to foreign involvement in the conflict. Moscow has warned that external assistance fuels the war, insisting any resolution must include Ukrainian neutrality and acknowledgment of current territorial realities.
