Russian air defenses neutralized more than 30 Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow during an overnight attack, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed. In a series of posts late Sunday to early Monday, the official stated the large-scale operation involved at least 37 drones, noting that emergency services were inspecting areas where debris landed. No details on casualties or ground damage were provided.
Explosions were reported across suburban towns in the Ramensky District, Podolsk, Klimovsk, Domodedovo, Kolomna, and Troitsk, according to the SHOT Telegram channel. Local authorities confirmed no injuries or structural harm resulted from the attacks. Temporary flight restrictions were imposed at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports, both located approximately 40 kilometers south and southeast of Moscow, respectively.
A separate drone strike occurred in Moscow on Saturday, though it involved only seven drones. Ukraine has frequently launched long-range drone operations into Russian territory, targeting energy facilities, infrastructure, and residential zones. Moscow has repeatedly condemned these attacks as “acts of terrorism.”
