FBI Arrests Two Massachusetts Men in Harvard Medical School Explosion Investigation

The FBI has arrested two Massachusetts men in connection with an explosion at Harvard University’s Longwood Medical School campus. Special agents and officers from FBI Boston’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, along with the Harvard University Police Department, made the arrests following a blast that occurred just after 2:45 a.m. Saturday in the Goldenson Building at 220 Longwood Avenue in Boston.

A Harvard police officer responding to a fire alarm activation observed two masked suspects fleeing the scene after the explosion, which affected a small section of the fourth-floor hallway. The officer attempted to intercept the individuals before proceeding to the fourth floor, where they discovered the blast had occurred. No injuries were reported, according to officials.

Surveillance footage released by Harvard University Police Department depicts the suspects wearing masks and head coverings as they fled the building. Harvard administrators confirmed the Goldenson Building sustained no structural damage and remains fully operational. In a statement to the medical school community, university leaders emphasized that all labs and equipment remained undamaged, with cleaning crews working to prepare the facility for the upcoming work week.
