Senator John Fetterman Refuses to Condemn Charlie Kirk in Interview with Katie Couric

Senator John Fetterman refused to back down during an interview with Katie Couric as she attempted to press him on whether Charlie Kirk should have been condemned for his rhetoric. Couric asked Fetterman if he had any issues now in hindsight over some of the things that Charlie Kirk said, and Fetterman responded that Charlie engaging in debate would never justify what’s happened. He stated that he chose not to take the opportunity to argue his views after children lost their father in the most violent public way. Couric questioned whether his body should have been flown on Air Force Two, to which Fetterman replied that it was [Trump’s/Vance’s] choice. When Couric suggested that some people might say Charlie Kirk’s rhetoric was extreme and that his words lead to violence, Fetterman agreed that they probably didn’t agree with much of what he said but emphasized that you shouldn’t execute them in public.
