Most of us have heard about the scores (or more) of “genders” social engineers have conjured up. Thanks to the Trump administration, school officials will no longer be required to identify as a particular one: “pandergender.”
This is because the Department of Education is terminating coercive agreements from the Obama and Biden eras that compelled schools to affirm troubled students’ delusions.
The administration moved to end civil rights settlements with two colleges and five local school districts requiring them to pander to transgender students. The Department of Education announced it would rescind resolution agreements made by the Obama and Biden administrations over what they described as “imaginary” Title IX violations that included penalties for refusing to use preferred student pronouns or asking about a student’s preferred gender.
A more realistic framing was provided in a Monday press release from the Department of Education:
“Today, the Trump Administration is removing the unnecessary and unlawful burdens that prior Administrations imposed on schools in its relentless pursuit of a radical transgender agenda. While previous Administrations launched Title IX investigations based on ‘misgendering,’ the Trump Administration is investigating allegations of girls and women being injured by men on their sports team or feeling violated by men in their intimate spaces,” said Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Kimberly Richey. “No longer will the federal government force educational institutions to violate the law or punish them for upholding it.”
This termination has been described as the best thing for made-up sexual status (MUSS, also known as “transgender”) students themselves. Renowned psychiatrist Dr. Paul McHugh explained this many years ago:
“When ‘the tumult and shouting dies,’ it proves not easy nor wise to live in a counterfeit sexual garb.”
In fact, many MUSS individuals who have chosen surgical sexual mutilation regret having done so. According to Dr. McHugh, such people’s suicide rate is : 20 times that of comparable peers.
Given this, is it loving to enable children on the dangerous path of delusion that could lead to such mutilation?
In truth, there is much to unpack here. Title IX was not just unconstitutional but also “mutilated” by the Obama and Biden administrations. Title IX prohibits discrimination in education based on “sex.” When the legislation was crafted in 1972, the framers intended this to reference only the male-female binary. (MUSS statuses never entered their minds.)
Moreover, this definition has not changed. In fact, sexual devolutionary social scientists distinguish between “sex” and “gender.” The former is the biological phenomenon of being male or female; “gender,” they claim, is your perception of what you are — which can differ from your sex. Applying “gender” to humans is a sexual devolutionary innovation. Note that the term once was almost exclusively used for word categories (e.g., masculine, feminine, and neuter). It should be confined to this today as well. Humans have the quality known as “sex,” not gender.
Another reality: Changing your sex is impossible. As philosopher and Heritage Foundation senior fellow Ryan T. Anderson stated in 2018:
“Cosmetic surgery and cross-sex hormones can’t change us into the opposite sex. They can affect appearances. They can stunt or damage some outward expressions of our reproductive organization. But they can’t transform it. They can’t turn us from one sex into the other.”
This “counterfeit sexual garb” is legitimized by counterfeit science, according to Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine psychiatrist Dr. Lawrence Mayer. He pointed out years ago:
“Scientifically speaking, transgender men are not biological men and transgender women are not biological women. The claims to the contrary are not supported by a scintilla of scientific evidence.”
Recognizing these truths yields a striking conclusion: Since people do not have “gender” and one cannot change sex, “transgender” individuals — or “transsexuals” — do not exist. People with delusions certainly do.
Unfortunately, none of this stopped the Obama and Biden administrations from enabling and enforcing unscientific irrationality. For instance, a settlement the Trump administration terminated required the Delaware Valley School District to permit students to use bathrooms that aligned with their gender identity [delusion].
Point to ponder: Psychologists define “gender dysphoria” — essentially, the sense of being stuck in the “wrong” sex’s body. They also define “species dysphoria,” the sense of being an animal stuck in a human body. If a child identifies as a cat, is his school obligated to provide him with a litter box?
If a “gender dysphoric” student has a right to choose a bathroom situation aligned with their identity, doesn’t a “species dysphoric” student have the same right?
Another terminated agreement involved Taft College in California’s Central Valley. In 2023, the college settled with the Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights after a student accused faculty of discrimination that included refusing to use the student’s preferred pronouns. The college agreed to faculty training on Title IX and policy revisions clarifying that refusal to use a person’s preferred name and pronoun could constitute harassment.
Addressing people as they wish may seem reasonable to many, but it is not always appropriate. Consider: if someone insists on being called “God,” most people would roll their eyes, and theists would likely find this offensive. What if a child told school that his pronouns include Jo-Jo the Ferret? Or what if a white supremacist said he was “Oh, great and superior master”? Would black folks address him accordingly?
It is unreasonable to demand that people use words (pronouns, in this case) that affirm an agenda they adamantly oppose.
In truth, there are no legal “transgender” rights. Not any more than there are legal men’s rights, women’s rights, tall people’s rights, or coffee drinkers’ rights. There are only constitutional rights. And if you are human, you have them (even if you identify as a ferret).
We must focus less on rights and more on responsibilities. A primary responsibility is to avoid enabling lies — especially those that destroy young bodies, minds, and souls.
