Florida Poll Reveals Democratic Strength in Key Races

A recent survey by Change Research, commissioned by Freedom Project USA and conducted online via SurveyMonkey with 2,070 registered Florida voters from May 13 to 16, indicates Democratic candidate David Jolly leads Republican Byron Donalds with 46% to 42% in a hypothetical governor race.

The poll also shows retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Alex Vindman leading Republican Senator Ashley Moody and Democrat José Javier Rodríguez outpacing incumbent James Uthmeier for attorney general.

Change Research reports that 70% of Floridians say they are falling behind the cost of living, with 65% not believing Florida is affordable for them or their families. Democrats’ vote motivation is reported at 88%, compared to Republicans’ 75%.

A separate poll by Cherry Communications found Donalds leading Jolly by eight points. A campaign spokesperson for Donalds described the survey as unreliable, citing its Democratic affiliations.

The survey’s methodology included recruitment through targeted Facebook and Instagram advertisements and text messages via Switchboard, with post-stratification on age, gender, race/ethnicity, education, 2024 presidential vote, and region. The margin of error is 2.3%.
