Pam Bondi Joins Trump’s AI Council After Quiet Victory Over Thyroid Cancer

President Trump has appointed former Attorney General Pam Bondi to a panel focused on AI policy, according to a report. The group, known as the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), is chaired by former White House AI adviser David Sacks and White House science adviser Michael Kratsios.

The council includes more than a dozen tech executives, such as Nvidia co-founder Jensen Huang, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison. Bondi will be responsible for facilitating coordination between the government and these industry leaders.

Vice President JD Vance praised Bondi in a statement: “Pam has been an enormously valuable asset to the president’s team, and I’m thrilled for her and for all of us that she’s going to remain involved in confronting some of the most important issues the administration faces.”

Bondi has reportedly been battling thyroid cancer since leaving the Justice Department. She has undergone treatment and is now in recovery.

On social media, Bondi received praise for her handling of the diagnosis. Podcast host and former White House official Katie Miller wrote on X: “Pam has been quietly kicking cancer’s a the last few weeks.” Miller also added that “[Bondi] has a heart of gold.”

According to the Cleveland Clinic, most thyroid cancers are permanently curable with treatment, with a five-year survival rate exceeding 98%. This prognosis is considered excellent.

The report also noted that Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, secretly battled thyroid cancer during his high-profile role in the White House in the president’s first term, as revealed in his memoir.
