Chilling Murder: Veteran Actor James Handy Stabbed to Death by Girlfriend’s Son

James Handy, a veteran actor best known for his roles in hit movies such as Top Gun: Maverick and Jumanji, has been murdered.

Police found the 81-year-old unconscious in his front yard suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest. He was rushed to the hospital but died from his injuries.

His murderer, 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, is the son of Handy’s girlfriend. Gledhill called law enforcement after committing the heinous crime to confess.

Handy had built an extensive acting career spanning several decades with over 100 credits on IMDb. He recently appeared in Top Gun: Maverick as a bartender named Jimmy and starred in the 1995 cult classic film Jumanji, which featured Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst, and Jonathan Hyde.

The actor also made numerous television appearances in shows including The West Wing, 9-1-1, NCIS: Los Angeles, CSI: NY, The Young and The Restless, Castle, Criminal Minds, Cold Case, Without a Trace, ER, and The X-Files.

It remains unclear what led to the attack on Wednesday morning.
