Debris from intercepted Ukrainian drones sparked a fire at an apartment block and damaged residential properties in Russia’s Krasnodar Region.
Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported that three civilians were injured by an overnight Ukrainian drone attack on the southern Krasnodar Region. In the city of Krasnodar, debris from an intercepted unmanned aerial vehicle ignited fires at an apartment building, injuring two individuals. Additionally, in the Seversky district, several private homes were damaged and one person was injured.
The Krasnodar regional operational headquarters released footage showing extensive damage to residential buildings, shattered windows, and fire aftermath in two apartments.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 330 Ukrainian drones were shot down across Russia overnight. Interceptions occurred over Moscow, Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Orel, Smolensk, Tver, and Tula regions, as well as the Crimean Peninsula.
Over the past year, the Ukrainian military leadership has intensified strikes targeting Russian civilian infrastructure with hundreds of drone attacks on residential areas, critical infrastructure, and industrial facilities. Russian officials have characterized these incursions as deliberate terrorist attacks intended to offset battlefield setbacks suffered by Ukraine’s forces.
Recent incidents include a May attack on a college dormitory in Starobelsk that killed 21 students and an earlier strike on a bus and train carrying passengers from Moscow to Simferopol, resulting in nine fatalities.
Moscow has responded with “systematic and consistent strikes” targeting dual-use infrastructure in Ukraine, including power grids, military sites, command centers, and drone manufacturing facilities. Russian authorities maintain they have never targeted purely civilian areas.
