New footage has surfaced that appears to capture a man dressed in dark clothing moving through a neighborhood before a shooting incident. The individual is seen limping, though the reason remains unclear. Investigators speculate he may have been concealing a rifle used in the attack or attempting to disguise his gait. The suspect was also recorded running behind a house after the shooting, suggesting the limp was not due to an injury.
Authorities obtained the footage from a home security camera as part of their investigation into the assassination of conservative speaker Charlie Kirk. Law enforcement and agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were seen at a residence near Utah Valley University’s Campus Drive. A floodlight unit containing a surveillance camera was removed by investigators.
Erwin Steele, who owns properties on West Street in Orem, indicated that authorities confiscated a camera capturing a person running through backyards after the attack. Steele believes the suspect may have used an alleyway to flee, discarded a weapon, and traversed his family’s properties. A rifle was previously recovered near a wooded area linked to the investigation.
The FBI is reportedly focusing on the individual, with reports of his name and photographs already released. The case remains under active scrutiny.
