Mike Lindell, founder of MyPillow, has vowed to conduct a full hand count of all Minnesota ballots following claims of irregularities in the state’s election results.
In a Wednesday statement, Lindell cited multiple “irregularities” detected by his team during the recent voting process, including vote totals that reversed direction during reporting, synchronized vote counts across all seven Republican candidates, and counties reporting more votes than were cast.
Lindell emphasized that the recount will include “designated observers stationed throughout the hand-counting process.” He also stated: “Even if this recount and audit does not overturn my election for governor of Minnesota, I believe this is the gateway to getting rid of these electronic voting machines.”
The candidate explained that his effort is based on a right under Minnesota law allowing candidates to request a full hand count of ballots outside the narrow margin that triggers state-funded recounts. Lindell said: “One of the few good election laws Minnesota does have is that as a candidate, I have the right to completely audit and hand count every ballot in the state,” he added, noting his intention to exercise this right “to the full extent of the law.”
