22,638 Missing Migrant Children Recovered Under Trump Administration: Shocking Details Emerge

Tom Homan and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have identified 22,638 missing migrant children who disappeared under the Biden administration’s policies. The revelation highlights severe failures in tracking and safeguarding unaccompanied minors crossing the U.S. border.

The effort, led by a team operating from a “war room” in Washington, D.C., involves volunteers from agencies like the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations. This data-driven initiative focuses on analyzing records and addresses to locate children released under lax vetting procedures. Over 470,000 unaccompanied children crossed the border between 2021 and 2024, with many placed with sponsors lacking proper verification.

John Fabbricatore, a senior advisor at HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement, described harrowing conditions uncovered during the search. Children were found in “deplorable” environments, including cases of rape, debt bondage, and sexual exploitation. Some were left with sponsors involved in drug trafficking, leading to deaths from overdoses.

The team, assembled under President Donald Trump’s directive, has arrested over 400 individuals linked to the minors’ disappearances. Fabbricatore criticized the previous administration for poor recordkeeping, stating that incorrect data was entered into systems, complicating efforts to trace children. A critical flaw included the absence of DNA testing to confirm familial relationships before releasing minors to sponsors.

The operation underscores systemic failures in protecting vulnerable migrants, with over 27 children found dead under suspicious circumstances. The findings reveal a crisis of accountability and oversight in handling unaccompanied minors.
