The United Nations General Assembly has adopted a resolution on pandemic prevention and preparedness that explicitly endorses abortion rights, radical feminism, and globalist policies. Adopted by a vote of 153-3 with two abstentions on October 12, the document was opposed by the United States, Israel, and Argentina while New Zealand and Paraguay abstained.
The resolution, designated A/81/L.6, calls for universal access to sexual and reproductive health services including abortion, socialized healthcare systems, gender equality in all policies, and strengthened international collaboration on pandemic response. It also mandates the implementation of the World Health Organization’s International Health Regulations.
The adoption followed a failed attempt by the General Assembly to pass the resolution by consensus on September 25, when the United States blocked it citing concerns raised by U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Erica Schwartz regarding provisions related to equity and universal reproductive healthcare access.
