President Trump has called for the prosecution of senior Biden administration officials linked to “Operation Arctic Frost,” a probe that allegedly targeted Republican lawmakers. The president specifically named Christopher Wray, Jack Smith, Merrick Garland, and Lisa Monaco in a post on Truth Social, accusing them of orchestrating illegal surveillance and unethical behavior.
Documents obtained by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley reveal that Wray, Garland, and Monaco approved the Arctic Frost investigation in 2022. The operation, which focused on former President Donald Trump and his allies, involved collecting phone records of eight GOP senators and one GOP representative in 2023. While the committee clarified that call content was not accessed, Trump alleged the officials “spied on Senators and Congressmen/women, and even taped their calls.”
Trump also claimed without evidence that the Biden administration “cheated and rigged the 2020 Presidential Election,” a assertion refuted by investigators. The president’s post urged immediate legal action against those involved in the probe, framing the allegations as part of a broader “political witch hunt.”
