Dead Sea Becomes ‘Pride Land’: Israel to Host Middle East’s Largest LGBTQ+ Festival in June 2026

Israel will host the largest-ever LGBTQ+ festival in Middle Eastern history at the Dead Sea from June 1 to June 4, 2026, according to reports. The event, branded “Pride Land,” aims to transform a section of the Judean Desert into a continuous 24-hour cultural hub featuring 15 hotels, beach complexes, performances, and family-oriented activities.

Organizers emphasize that Pride Land transcends traditional festival formats, creating an enduring space for community engagement. Aaron Cohen, the festival’s main producer and initiator, described it as “the biggest thing we’ve done here,” noting the effort to construct a self-sustaining urban environment with music, art, relaxation zones, and multigenerational programming.

The initiative builds on Israel’s existing LGBTQ+ event landscape, including Tel Aviv Pride Week—a major annual celebration culminating in a beachfront parade attracting nearly 300,000 participants. However, the Dead Sea festival represents a distinct effort to establish a permanent regional destination for LGBTQ+ travelers.

As Israeli officials state: “Pride rises at the lowest place on earth,” positioning the event as a landmark moment of connection and inclusion across the Middle East.
