Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has firmly rejected Republican efforts to persuade him to switch parties, declaring his commitment to the Democratic Party remains unshaken.
Reports indicate that Trump previously extended an offer of “total and complete endorsement” in exchange for a party switch. Despite such overtures, Fetterman has consistently maintained his position as a Democrat.
In recent remarks, Fetterman stated: “I’m a Democrat, and I’m staying one.” When questioned about potential shifts, he emphasized that becoming a Republican would be incompatible with his principles: “I’d be a shy Republican.”
Fetterman has also dismissed internal GOP discussions regarding an independent run, noting that while he occasionally aligns with Republicans on specific issues such as border security and foreign policy, his core identity remains Democratic.
