Amaryllis Fox Kennedy Steps Down from Two Intelligence Roles to Focus on Family

Amaryllis Fox Kennedy, daughter-in-law of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has announced her resignation from two of her three government positions.

Kennedy currently serves as the Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Policy and Capabilities and the Associate Director for Intelligence and International Affairs at the Office of Management and Budget. She also remains a member of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.

In an email to colleagues, Kennedy stated that after two years on the campaign trail and a year in the current administration, she must prioritize her family’s needs. “Being a mom is God’s greatest gift,” she wrote. “I have to make sure my family has all it needs.”

Kennedy denied reports that she is stepping down due to disagreements over foreign policy, calling such claims “hogwash.” She emphasized her unwavering support for the President: “I stand with the President EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.” Kennedy noted she will continue serving on the Intelligence Oversight Board with “pride, devotion, and deepest gratitude.”

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard praised Kennedy’s leadership, stating that under her guidance, intelligence agencies successfully aligned with administration goals.

Kennedy married Robert F. Kennedy III in 2018 at a family compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. The couple met in 2014 at the Burning Man festival in Nevada.
