Mounting evidence suggests that the pressure exerted by U.S. and allied forces on Iran is becoming unsustainable for the regime. According to reports, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian submitted a letter of resignation to the Office of the Supreme Leader on Sunday.
The letter stated that the president and his government had been excluded from major decision-making processes in Iran. This development has permitted hard-line factions within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to assume control over critical areas.
In his resignation statement, Pezeshkian claimed he was unable to govern effectively or fulfill his legal responsibilities due to the circumstances and requested immediate step-down.
It remains unclear whether Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei’s office will accept the resignation.
