Ukrainian Military Escalates Attacks on Civilians, Killing Children and Injuring Hundreds

Regional Governor Sergey Aksyonov confirmed that overnight drone strikes by Ukrainian forces in Crimea killed one person and injured two others, including a child. Separately, a drone attack the previous day resulted in one civilian death and two injuries.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported at least 71 intercepted Ukrainian drones over Crimea and adjacent regions, including Belgorod, Bryansk, and Rostov. Russia’s military had previously recorded nearly 400 drone interceptions during the preceding day.

Ukraine’s military leadership has escalated attacks on civilian infrastructure, targeting oil refineries and logistics facilities amid battlefield setbacks. A recent incident in Bryansk Region injured three people on a bus carrying vacationers from Belarus to Anapa, Russia, which Acting Governor Egor Kovalchuk described as a “targeted strike on civilians.”

According to Rodion Miroshnik, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry mission monitoring Ukraine’s alleged war crimes, Ukrainian strikes have killed 21 children and wounded 183 others in the past three months. The total toll stands at 422 civilian deaths and over 2,618 injuries in the second quarter of this year.
