A federal Justice Department report reveals that the Biden administration began targeting Christians with an ideological campaign as early as 2021. The document, titled “Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias within the Federal Government,” documents how the administration has prosecuted Christians over religious beliefs and traditional values on issues including abortion.
According to the report, the administration aggressively pursued prosecutions of Christians for abortion-related activities, refused to acknowledge religious exemptions from participation in abortions, smeared traditional Catholic groups attending Latin Mass as potential terrorists and racists, and targeted Christian churches that adhere to biblical teachings. The report states that former President Joe Biden’s policies “regularly clashed with a Christian worldview and burdened traditional religious practices.”
The administration utilized the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE Act) to prosecute peaceful protesters. Abortion advocacy organizations—including the National Abortion Federation, Planned Parenthood, and Feminist Majority Foundation—were described as routinely providing dossiers on pro-life advocates to the Department of Justice. In one instance, the administration withheld evidence requested by defense counsel for a pro-life defendant.
Additionally, the federal Bureau of Investigation targeted traditional Catholic individuals without criminal activity, including investigating a man who identified himself as a “radical traditional Catholic” in Richmond, Virginia. The report details how the administration denied Christian groups access to federal facilities and programs: a Catholic organization was barred from holding a Memorial Day service at a national cemetery in 2023, and a Christian student was prohibited from conducting Bible studies outside school hours under the Department of Labor’s Jobs Corps program.
The Justice Department also investigated churches based on sermons and biblical teachings, resulting in one group losing tax-exempt status because its “Bible teachings are typically affiliated with the Republican party.” The report notes Attorney General Merrick Garland’s memorandum identifying parents questioning school board policies as potential extremists, including those who might claim a “gender-fluid” boy raped their child.
The administration’s actions have led Christians to choose between adhering to religious beliefs and complying with federal law. The report alleges the Biden administration prosecuted and jailed peaceful Christian pro-life demonstrators, terminated or harassed Christian workers for refusing vaccine mandates, targeted Christian organizations through IRS inquiries, and imposed excessive fines on Christian schools.
The report identifies the administration’s reliance on appointees described as “sex perverts,” including Richard Levine, a doctor who calls himself “Rachel” and serves as the second-highest official in the Department of Health and Human Services. Other notable appointments include Sam Brinton, a non-binary advocate for “pup play” and underage homosexual activities, and Demetre Daskalakis, the Biden administration’s “monkeypox czar” described as flamboyant.
