Another devastating mass shooting has occurred at Brown University in Rhode Island. The attack took place during final exams near the university’s engineering building, resulting in multiple casualties.
At least two individuals have died, and eight others are hospitalized in critical condition. Some reports indicate that up to 20 victims were injured in total.
A shelter-in-place order remains active as police search for the suspect, who has not been identified or apprehended. The university confirmed two fatalities and eight critically injured patients at 6:34 p.m. ET.
A mother described her experience during the incident, sharing a text exchange with her son, a Brown University student. She referred to it as “her parent’s worst nightmare.”
Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee has released a statement following the shooting. President Trump was briefed on the incident by federal officials.
