The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported a significant operation in San Antonio, Texas, resulting in the apprehension of over 150 illegal aliens. The operation involved 14 state, local, and federal agencies, leading to the arrest of more than 150 individuals, including 27 suspected Tren de Aragua gang members. Law enforcement recovered cocaine, three firearms, and approximately $35,000 in cash.
An FBI spokesperson confirmed that agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the FBI were conducting court-authorized activity near San Pedro Ave. and Basse Rd. in San Antonio. Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, “Thanks to the brave work of DHS law enforcement and our federal partners, 150 illegal aliens including 27 suspected Tren de Argua gang members are off our streets.”
The operation targeted an underground nightclub, with the involvement of multiple federal agencies. Under President Trump’s administration, Tren de Aragua was designated as a foreign terrorist organization.
Democrat lawmakers expressed concern over the raid, questioning the actions taken by ICE and other agencies. Rep. Joaquin Castro stated, “There are serious questions surrounding the ICE raid in San Antonio. Teenagers—even a baby— were caught up in the chaotic scene. There needs to be accountability and transparency.” He and Rep. Greg Casar demanded details about the arrest warrant, information on those arrested, and accused the administration of withholding information.
The focus remains on the operation’s impact, with no further comments from the involved agencies.
