Father Gives Home Run Ball to ‘Karen’ Fan Amid Game Incident

A father has explained why he surrendered a home run baseball he was moments away from giving to his son to an irate fan at a Philadelphia Phillies game. Drew Feltwell described confronting a woman who claimed the ball as her own, leading to a tense exchange that ended with him handing it over to avoid escalation.

Feltwell recounted the incident during an interview with NBC10, detailing how he retrieved the ball hit by Phillies player Harrison Bader during a game attended for his son Lincoln’s 10th birthday. He said he noticed the ball landing in the seats and picked it up before walking back to his family. However, a woman who had been seated behind him approached, shouting that the ball belonged to her.

“She yelled in my ear, ‘That’s my ball!’ like super loud,” Feltwell said. “I jumped out of my skin… She just wouldn’t stop.” The father added he did not want to worsen the situation, stating he simply wished for the woman to leave. By that point, Lincoln already had the ball in his glove, but the woman continued her confrontation.

Social media users amplified the story, with some sharing clips of the incident and describing the woman as aggressive for confronting Feltwell. A goodie bag was later given to Lincoln by game staff. The father’s account focused on his decision to de-escalate the encounter rather than defend his initial claim to the ball.
