FBI Arrests Two Suspects in Connection to Explosion at Harvard Medical School

The FBI has arrested two individuals allegedly linked to an intentional explosion at Harvard University’s medical campus on Saturday morning. The incident occurred just after 2:45 a.m. in the Goldenson Building, which houses labs and offices for the neurobiology department.

Authorities reported that two masked suspects were seen fleeing the scene following the blast, which affected a small section of the fourth-floor hallway. Harvard officials confirmed that the area has since been cleared and is fully operational, with no structural damage or harm to laboratories and equipment. No injuries were reported.

Logan David Patterson, 18, from Plymouth, and Dominick Frank Cardoza, 20, from Bourne, face charges of conspiracy to damage property using fire or an explosive. The suspects were arrested Tuesday morning and are set to appear in federal court.

The FBI’s Boston Field Office, working with the Harvard University Police Department, conducted the arrests. A news conference is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon to provide further details. U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley emphasized that while the investigation continues, there is no ongoing threat to the university.
