FBI Director Kash Patel has stated that multiple suspects could be involved in the investigation into the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, as the probe remains in its early stages. During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Senator John Kennedy asked Patel whether Tyler Robinson, the man accused of fatally shooting Kirk, acted alone. Patel responded by emphasizing the ongoing nature of the inquiry but confirmed that the FBI is examining numerous individuals linked to the case.
Patel highlighted that investigators are scrutinizing communications from a Discord chat room associated with Robinson, noting that “a number of individuals are currently being investigated and interrogated” as well as those yet to be questioned. The director also mentioned that law enforcement has seized electronic devices from Robinson’s Utah residence, including computers, laptops, gaming systems, and cell phones, as part of the investigation.
Robinson, a 22-year-old man identified by authorities, is accused of killing Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University. Patel revealed that evidence recovered included text messages in which Robinson allegedly expressed intent to target Kirk. The FBI has not yet announced formal charges against Robinson but stated that further findings will be disclosed as the investigation progresses.
