The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced today that its Office for Civil Rights is launching an investigation into a midwestern school system following allegations related to administering federally funded vaccines.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., HHS Secretary, addressed the concerns in a statement: “We are initiating an investigation because federal funds should not be used improperly regarding children’s health decisions.” The office will examine whether state procedures for exemption requests were followed correctly within this specific case and during implementation of the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.
The investigation also focuses on ensuring parents receive timely access to their children’s medical records as per applicable laws. Kennedy emphasized that federal oversight is necessary to enforce compliance with parental rights, particularly concerning vaccine administration protocols.
