William Shatner, the 94-year-old actor famed for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek, was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital following a medical emergency linked to low blood sugar. The incident occurred at his home late Wednesday afternoon, according to sources with direct knowledge. Shatner is now reported to be in stable condition and resting comfortably.
Despite his age, Shatner remains active, recently participating in fan events and engaging with projects connected to his iconic portrayal of the Enterprise captain. His career, which began with the original Star Trek series in 1966, has left an enduring legacy on science fiction and entertainment.
Shatner reflected on his career during a recent appearance on On The Red Carpet Icons, noting the significance of his work. “The beauty of so many of the shows and the excellence of the writing… it’s a very intimate thing doing a series,” he said.
A multi-talented figure, Shatner has also pursued music, writing, and space travel, becoming the oldest person to reach space in 2021 at age 90 aboard Blue Origin’s NS-18 mission.
