Manhunt Launched for Two Suspects in Intentional Explosion at Harvard Medical Building

The FBI and Boston police are searching for two suspects allegedly linked to an intentional explosion at Harvard University’s medical building on Saturday morning. Early Saturday, an “intentional” explosion occurred on the fourth floor of the Goldenson Building, part of Harvard’s medical campus in Boston, triggering a fire alarm and immediate police response.

Harvard Police Department officers reported seeing two unidentified individuals fleeing the scene, as confirmed by a statement from the department. The explosion, which took place at 2:48 a.m., was described as intentional by the Boston Fire Department’s arson unit. No injuries were reported, though authorities conducted a building sweep for additional devices, finding none.

University officials released CCTV images of the suspects: one wearing a balaclava and the other in a hoodie with a raised hood and face covering. The public has been urged to assist in identifying them. Harvard University Police Department is leading the investigation alongside local, state, and federal law enforcement.

A student, Joey Awad, described hearing two loud blasts while asleep, stating, “Like I felt it in my body… my heart was racing.” The Goldenson Building, constructed in 1906, is part of Harvard’s Boston campus near the HMS Quad Lawn.
