U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley has revealed that top officials within the Obama administration’s Department of Justice and FBI blocked an investigation into corruption involving the Clinton Foundation. The obstruction centered on foreign governments and other entities that donated to the foundation to gain access to Hillary Clinton while she served as Secretary of State.
According to documents obtained by Grassley’s committee, the FBI and DOJ under President Barack Obama facilitated Hillary Clinton’s Russia Collusion Hoax in 2016 while simultaneously obstructing probes into the Clinton Foundation. Grassley detailed that internal FBI directives from January 2017 prohibited agents from subpoenaing foundation records, conducting interviews related to the foundation or Clinton, or sharing bank account information with other offices—a policy enforced by then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
The committee also disclosed that McCabe’s wife received over $675,000 from political entities linked to former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, a Clinton Foundation board member. McCabe was compelled to recuse himself from investigations into this matter by November 2016. Grassley further revealed that Obama administration Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates ordered U.S. prosecutors in the eastern district of Arkansas to shut down the foundation investigation in March 2016.
Reports indicate at least 85 out of 154 individuals who met with Clinton during her tenure as Secretary of State donated money or pledged commitments to the Clinton Foundation, totaling potentially $156 million. These contributions raised significant ethical concerns given Clinton’s prior agreement to publicly disclose all donors when she was secretary of state.
