Former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has been quietly undergoing cancer treatment in recent weeks.
Reports indicate she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer shortly after leaving the Department of Justice. She has completed treatment and is now in recovery.
President Trump recently appointed Bondi to a position on an artificial intelligence advisory committee, where she will join the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST).
The former Attorney General, who was removed from her role last month, has received praise from Vice President JD Vance. He stated: “Pam has been an enormously valuable asset to the president’s team, and I’m thrilled for her and for all of us that she’s going to remain involved in confronting some of the most important issues the administration faces.”
Bondi’s thyroid cancer diagnosis followed her departure from the Justice Department, according to a source. Thyroid cancer is one of the least deadly types, with a 98-99% survival rate, though it remains a challenging condition for patients.
Additionally, recent reports have highlighted cases of cancer among several prominent figures, including President Trump’s Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
