On September 15, a Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 experienced a landing-gear tire issue shortly after takeoff from Mashhad. The crew returned the aircraft to Mashhad without completing its route to Kermanshah.
Footage circulating online shows passengers gripping seatbacks while sections of the cabin ceiling sagged into the cabin and hung overhead. Passengers were heard screaming as interior coverings detached and exposed areas behind their seats.
According to Razavi Khorasan province government reports, the aircraft developed a tire problem during takeoff. Government official Hassan Jafari confirmed that all passengers disembarked safely and were transferred to an alternative flight to Kermanshah.
The incident also resulted in temporary closure of the runway at Mashhad’s Shahid Hasheminejad International Airport, which reopened later that day.
