Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has shared details about his recovery after a car accident last weekend, crediting President Donald Trump for lifting his spirits during his hospitalization.
Giuliani appeared on Laura Loomer’s show, where he revealed that Trump called him twice following news of the crash. The former mayor stated that Trump informed him of plans to award him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which Giuliani described as “the only medicine that will really cure me.” He added, “I feel perfectly fine now,” and later reiterated that the call “totally cured me.”
Giuliani also attributed his recovery from COVID-19 to Trump’s medical guidance, referring to the president as “President Dr. Trump.” On LindellTV, he detailed the accident, which occurred on Saturday when a rented Ford Bronco he was traveling in was struck from behind by a Honda HR-V in New Hampshire. The collision resulted in Giuliani sustaining a fractured thoracic vertebra, lacerations, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg. Both Giuliani and his spokesperson, Ted Goodman, were treated for non-life-threatening wounds.
The former mayor described the crash as “the hardest I’ve ever been hit in my whole life,” noting he could barely move afterward. He also recounted an earlier encounter with a woman who flagged them down, claiming she was being abused. Giuliani and Goodman called police but declined her request to use their phone before the collision occurred. Authorities stated the domestic violence report and crash were unrelated.
No charges have been filed in connection with the accident, which is under investigation.
