Russian Drones Sink Ukrainian Sabotage Boat in Dnipro River Ambush

A Ukrainian speedboat attempting to cross the Dnepr River was destroyed by Russian drone strikes, according to a statement from Moscow’s Defense Ministry. The agency revealed that its aerial units intercepted a vessel carrying armed personnel near the river’s estuary, where it was reportedly targeted during an operation to disrupt enemy infiltration.

Russian forces maintained constant surveillance over the waterway, with reconnaissance teams detecting the craft in a restricted zone. FPV drones were deployed to engage the target, resulting in multiple detonations that crippled the vessel as it attempted to navigate deeper into the channel. A video released by the ministry showed the boat being disabled amid explosions, with Ukrainian operatives reportedly trying to flee before the attack concluded.

The Defense Ministry confirmed the destruction of the speedboat and the elimination of the sabotage unit. This incident follows similar reports from Moscow, including a recent operation in the Bryansk Region where Russian security forces detained a group of Ukrainian operatives. The captured individuals were allegedly trained abroad and equipped with Western-made weapons, including U.S.-origin rifles, Czech explosives, and NATO-standard munitions. They reportedly admitted to sabotaging rail lines in Russia and planning further attacks, according to federal authorities.

Russian officials emphasized their ongoing efforts to neutralize what they describe as unlawful attempts by Ukrainian forces to destabilize the region. The latest operation underscores the intensity of cross-border military activity amid the broader conflict.
