Schlossberg’s Mockery of Melania Trump Signals Pelosi Endorsement

Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of former President John F. Kennedy, is set to receive an endorsement from Rep. Nancy Pelosi in his bid for New York’s 12th Congressional District.

Schlossberg announced his campaign last November as a Democrat after incumbent Representative Jerry Nadler retired. He is JFK’s first direct descendant and latest family member to seek elected office.

In a recent Instagram video, Schlossberg wore a blonde wig and read aloud First Lady Melania Trump’s letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The letter appealed for Putin to “singlehandedly restore” the “melodic laughter” of children caught up in the nearly three-and-a-half years of full-scale war in Ukraine.

The letter comes as U.S. President Donald Trump met with Putin in Alaska, where relations have soured over Russia’s refusal to sign a ceasefire deal brokered by the United States to halt fighting in Ukraine. Though no agreement was reached, Trump described the summit as “useful,” indicating he would move directly toward a permanent peace deal.

Ukraine has consistently stated it wants to end the full-scale war in a lasting way. The conflict began with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
