Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) expressed support for President Trump’s military operation targeting a Venezuelan drug trafficking vessel in the Southern Caribbean. “Fully support confronting the scourge of cartel drug trafficking to our nation,” Fetterman stated.
The White House confirmed that U.S. Military Forces conducted an attack on Tren de Aragua Narcoterrorists, killing 11 individuals aboard a vessel transporting illegal narcotics toward the United States. The strike occurred in international waters. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated further operations could follow, saying, “And it’ll happen again. Maybe it’s happening right now,” while emphasizing the administration’s resolve to combat “narcoterrorist organizations.”
The action comes amid escalating tensions between the U.S. and Venezuela, following reports of expanded naval deployments near Venezuelan waters. Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro warned that increased military activity could provoke a “republic in arms” response, citing troop movements along coasts and borders. The State Department has classified Tren de Aragua as a foreign terrorist organization, with officials deploying warships and personnel for counternarcotics efforts.
Fox News Digital sought additional comments from Fetterman’s office but received no response by publication.
