South Carolina Judge’s Million-Dollar Home Mysteriously Burns Amid Investigation

A South Carolina judge’s million-dollar beachfront residence was engulfed in flames on Sunday, leaving three individuals injured and the cause of the blaze under scrutiny. The home of Circuit Court Judge Diana Goodstein and her husband, Arnold Goodstein—a former Democrat state senator—caught fire, according to authorities. Both Goodsteins were hospitalized along with a third unidentified person.

Emergency responders rescued the occupants from a remote marshy area behind the three-story property, with some transported by kayak. One individual was airlifted to the Medical University of South Carolina, while two others were taken by ground transport. Arnold Goodstein reportedly suffered multiple hip, leg, and foot fractures after escaping the fire.

Local officials have launched an investigation into the incident. Representative Nancy Mace raised concerns about potential political motives, stating that if the fire was intentional, it would represent an attack on the rule of law. No arrests or suspects have been announced.

The cause of the blaze remains undetermined as authorities continue their inquiry.
