Tragic Incident Claims Life of Sydney Airport Worker in Devastating Accident

A worker at Australia’s Sydney Airport died following a fatal accident involving a towing vehicle. The incident occurred on Sunday at the Qantas International Freight Terminal in Mascot, where the man, believed to be in his 40s, was struck by a vehicle while working. Emergency services arrived promptly, but the individual could not be revived.

A Qantas spokesperson stated the airline would support those affected, expressing condolences to the worker’s family, friends, and colleagues. NSW Ambulance confirmed the man sustained severe head and chest injuries. He was employed by Wymap People, a recruitment and labor hire company, which released a statement offering sympathy to the worker’s loved ones and the broader airport community.

Police treated the scene as a crime site but ruled out suspicion in the death. Emergency responders interviewed witnesses, including the operator of the machinery involved. No impact on passenger operations was reported. SafeWork NSW confirmed it is investigating the incident.
