President Trump turned a straightforward question about a $1.776 billion weaponization fund into a scathing rebuke of media outlets and CNN’s Kaitlan Collins during Wednesday’s interview on the network. When Collins inquired about the fund’s status, Trump stated he would need to consult lawyers to determine whether it was “dead or on hold.”
The president then shifted focus to the fund’s purpose, declaring, “I love it. I think, it’s so important,” and accused the Biden administration of weaponizing Americans who supported him. “What happened to great people, great American people, the way they were victimized, the way they were savage, you have suicides, they killed themselves, they went bankrupt, they were weaponized by the Biden administration by a bunch of thugs, including Obama people,” Trump said.
Collins attempted to interrupt, but Trump shut her down with “Wait a minute, be quiet!” He later criticized Collins for being “a conservative from Alabama” and accused CNN specifically of abetting the harm to his supporters: “People like you have abused our people so badly. The fake news, like CNN, like the New York Times, and like others, have abused our people.”
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed on Tuesday that Trump’s weaponization fund had been scrapped after RINO Senators threatened not to fund ICE and border patrol. Trump insisted his supporters “have been abused by you and by others,” adding they were “dumb people” who wanted “open borders, transgender mutilation of your children, [and] men playing in women’s sports.”
The exchange highlighted Trump’s refusal to allow CNN to serve as a neutral referee in the ongoing debate over the fund’s fate, with reports confirming he directly blamed media outlets for targeting his supporters while criticizing Collins’ perceived hypocrisy.
