Trump Publicly Warns Israel to Stop Targeting Civilian Buildings in Lebanon

President Trump delivered a clear and direct message at the G7 Summit in France that only a strong American president can wield. Speaking openly with reporters, he backed Israel while simultaneously pressuring it to exercise restraint.

The White House Rapid Response 47 account shared video of Trump stating that Israel does not have to knock down an apartment buildings every time it is searching for one person because many residents are not Hezbollah members. “You don’t have to knock down an apartment house every time you’re looking for somebody,” Trump said, “because there are a lot of people in those buildings. And they’re not all Hezbollah.”

Trump emphasized that without the United States and without him personally, there would be no Israel. He stressed that U.S. backing is critical to Israel’s survival. The president also framed his remarks as a call for Netanyahu to take greater responsibility regarding Lebanon while underscoring that the Iran peace deal would survive even if Israel continued strikes in Beirut.

This public rebuke came amid concerns over escalating violence in Lebanon, with Trump maintaining he has had a strong relationship with Netanyahu but noting that Bibi must be more responsible with respect to Lebanon. The president’s comments were delivered without formal agreement and highlighted America’s role as Israel’s primary support while urging restraint to avoid undermining regional peace efforts.
