As New Year’s resolutions take shape globally, President Trump has declared his 2026 target: peace on Earth.
At his Mar-a-Lago New Year’s Eve celebration, a reporter asked President Trump about his resolution. The president replied: “Peace. Peace on Earth.”
Days earlier, Trump stated he had made significant diplomatic progress with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Wearing a tuxedo, Trump spoke briefly to reporters outside the club’s ballroom, with First Lady Melania Trump nearby in a silver gown. “Peace on Earth,” he reiterated when questioned about his resolution.
Inside the venue, Trump described the nation as “doing great” and “back. We’re strong.” He also pledged to investigate alleged welfare fraud in Minnesota before concluding the evening with a live painting performance.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who met with Trump on Gaza ceasefire discussions, attended the celebration.
