A 23-year-old Tucson police recruit was killed and his fiancée, a Pima County corrections officer, was wounded in a shooting inside their Arizona home Wednesday morning.
Deputies responded to the residence at 7700 South Enchanted Spring Drive shortly before 6 a.m., discovering Ramirez dead inside the home. His fiancée, also 23, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized in stable condition. Authorities confirmed Ramirez and his fiancée share a child, noting they were engaged—not married—when officials first identified them as victims.
Investigators are seeking two masked suspects described as Hispanic males wearing all-black clothing and ski masks. The sheriff’s department identifies the suspects’ likely vehicle as a gray 2007–2013 Acura MDX missing its fuel filler cover. Law enforcement has closed South Enchanted Spring Drive between West Star Wash Loop and Long Pond Walk Way to process the scene.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department continues active pursuit of the suspects, urging the public to report any sightings of the vehicle or information about the suspects via 911. Case number 260819030 remains open.
