The U.S. Treasury Department released a draft proposal to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States by producing a $1 coin featuring former President Donald J. Trump. The design showcases Trump’s portrait on one side, while the reverse depicts him with a raised fist in front of an American flag, paired with the phrase “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT.” U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach confirmed the draft, stating, “No fake news here. These first drafts honoring America’s 250th Birthday and @POTUS are real.” He added, “Looking forward to sharing more soon, once the obstructionist shutdown of the United States government is over.” A Treasury spokesperson emphasized that the design reflects the nation’s “enduring spirit of our country and democracy, even in the face of immense obstacles.” The coin’s reverse also includes the words “Fight, fight, fight” alongside traditional inscriptions “United States of America” and “E Pluribus Unum.” Legal tender status allows the coin to function as standard currency. A Treasury Department spokesperson noted, “Despite the radical left’s forced shutdown of our government, the facts are clear: Under the historic leadership of President Donald J. Trump, our nation is entering its 250th anniversary stronger, more prosperous, and better than ever before.” Legislation passed in 2020 by Congress, signed by Trump during his first term, authorized the Treasury Secretary to issue $1 dollar coins in 2026, requiring designs “emblematic of the United States semiquincentennial.”
