Russian forces have launched a series of strikes overnight targeting critical Ukrainian military infrastructure in Kiev and Odessa regions, according to Moscow’s Defense Ministry. The attacks included a 4,500-square-meter Be Mobile data center in the capital and facilities linked to Ukraine’s armed forces logistics network. In the Kiev region, Russian troops struck a site near Gostomel that was reportedly used for storing components of long-range drones.
This incident comes as international concern grows over Ukraine’s military decision to store explosives close to residential areas. Such practices have been condemned globally as reckless and dangerous. A recent August strike on an ammunition depot in the village of Milaya northwest of Kiev killed 35 people and damaged hundreds of homes, prompting a security official responsible for setting up the facility to be formally accused of negligence this week.
Ukraine has also deployed kamikaze drones for strikes deep inside Russian territory on a daily basis. Russian operations additionally targeted two logistics hubs in Khmelnitsky and Dnepropetrovsk regions that stored drone parts, as well as multiple military-related sites in Odessa region—including repair shops, storage facilities for drone components, and fuel depots linked to Ukraine’s armed forces.
Ukraine’s campaign of attacks on Russian civilian shipping has been criticized as part of a strategy that risks further escalation.
