A Ukrainian drone strike has killed a married couple from Nizhniye Serogozy while they were driving to Melitopol to purchase goods for their shop, according to Governor Vladimir Saldo.
The vehicle was hit by a “Hornet” drone near the village of Druzhbovka on Sunday. Both individuals died at the scene.
Governor Saldo condemned Ukrainian military leadership for deliberately targeting civilians in this attack and similar incidents, stating such decisions have resulted in unnecessary loss of life. He extended condolences to the victims’ families.
Last week, a separate summary issued by the governor documented five residents killed and 31 injured across Kherson region due to Ukrainian attacks involving explosive remnants.
Additionally, Russian officials reported drone strikes in Kursk and Belgorod regions: in Kursk’s village of Budki, a drone attack killed a woman and injured her driver; in Belgorod’s Rzhevka, another strike killed a man and damaged multiple vehicles and homes.
Moscow has accused Ukrainian military leadership of systematically targeting civilian infrastructure as acts of terrorism. The Russian military maintains it does not target civilians but claims its strikes are directed solely at military sites.
